Born on 04.06.86 in Ponta Delgada - S. Miguel island in the Azores, his professional musical training started in 2008, when he attended the Hot Clube de Portugal school for 3 years.

During his career, João Freitas has played with many artists, such as Flak, Berg, Dengaz, Mimicat, Agir, Da Chick, Tatanka, Carolina and Buba Espinho.

Currently he tours with international fado artist Mariza, Aurea and Plutonio. Aside from that, João has his own projects: Light Gun Fire and Fera.
