Like most drummers, João started playing drums as a teenager. He picked up his sticks at 14 and when he was 18 he joined his first band.

He grew up as a punk/hardcore drummer, playing hundreds of shows all over Europe, North America and South America.

In 2020 he released his first solo work, where he explores a more ambient and electronic style.

Apart from this, João still plays in several bands, like LÖBO and Wildnorthe.
