Ricardo began playing drums at age 11, at the Telheiras Music Academy, where he studied for 4 years.

When he was 15, he enroled both in the Cascais Conservatory of Music and the Luis Villas-Boas Jazz School (also famously know as Hot Clube Portugal). Taking both courses simultaneously allowed him to gather training in classical and jazz music as well as being taught by musicians like Bruno Pernadas, Luis Cunha, Bruno Pedro and César Cardoso.

In 2015 he joined the project Chinaskee. In 2019 he graduates from Hot Clube and completes the music conservatory's 8th degree. Later that year he joins three other projects - Mt. Roshi, Cíntia and Polivalente.

Currently Ricardo is finishing his degree on Jazz Music, at Lisbon's Escola Superior de Música.
